If your child receives child care at any of our Cuddles Childcare Centres in the Perth area, you will probably be happy when you see how much they are learning. We provide numerous opportunities for your child to learn through play. We love learning through play because your child doesn’t see it as drudgery. They learn effortlessly and it is fun.
Most parents are so happy their children’s progress that they ask us how we do it. We tell them about our programs, such as Jessie’s Art Time, Messy Play and Jolly Phonics. But did you know there is plenty you can do to help your child learn at home, too? Here are our favourite ways for parents to help their children learn.
When your child is active, he or she is developing neurological pathways for hand and eye coordination, balance and other motor skills. They are also gaining experience by doing. It may not seem like much, but it adds up.
Play With Other Children
Children learn social skills and even conflict resolution skills by playing with other children. If they are given a small amount of leeway, they work out problems on their own. In the computer age, children are encouraged to be isolated. Start them out being social for dividends that pay off far down the road.
Get Out and About
Taking your child out for walks in the park or the neighbourhood provides a great learning opportunity. They will ask you a lot of questions. Answer them happily. If you can’t answer them, look them up together on the internet or in a book.
We cannot express how important it is to read to your child. Getting your child interested in reading can make academic success happen on “auto-pilot” when they are older.
