What is your name?
Rachelle Ward. People call me Rachelle.
How long have you been working in the early years?
I have been working in the industry for 17 years and been with Cuddles for 9 years.
What is your favourite part of working at the centre?
Watching the children to grow as strong individuals and being a part of their journey.
What qualifications do you hold?
Diploma in Children’s Services.
What are you most passionate about?
Mentoring. Getting to know the families, being very flexible and patient.
What are you most proud of at your centre?
The relationships we have with our families and our long serving team of educators.

What inspired you to become an educator?
Children are our future, therefore I wanted to teach and share my knowledge upon the children. I wanted to help children to develop their minds and prepare them for the future.
What values are most important to you in your team members?
Communication with each other and always putting the children first.
What is your philosophy about educating children?
I believe all children deserve a safe and comfortable environment to grow and learn.
What makes your team/centre special?
We have a low staff turnover rate and many of our families stay with us through the baby to kindy years. It is also a purpose-built centre with an onsite chef that makes meals fresh everyday.
What was your dream occupation as a child?
A teacher.
What do you do in your free time?
I love watching the All Blacks rugby team play. Go Kiwis!!
