The curriculum in the Zebra Room is quite unique as it covers a Pre-Kindy program for children from the age of 3 years and a Kindy program for children that are starting school the following year.
The curriculum is delivered both indoors and outdoors and focuses on all learning experiences that support developmental needs of children. It is a play-based program that also focuses on school readiness. Children are encouraged to explore different concepts and extend on their knowledge through play-based learning and positive social experiences.
We believe that every concept can be explored through child’s interest and play. Every investigation, mat session,
routine, excursion provide an opportunity for reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, exploring, counting, measuring, comparing and investigating. Children can experiment and research having all the time they need. It is just more fun this way!
For children age 3-5 years, our program focuses on developing important skills through routine tasks and transitions such as:
- individual and group experiences
- mat sessions
- both structured and free play
- meal times
- rest and sleep time
- hygiene practices and toileting
The teacher and educators encourage children to be a bit more independent, confident to make decisions, take ownership and be responsible for their actions.
This interactive, play based Pre-Kindy and Kindy program prepares children for school and for life.
