If you are looking for child care in Baldivis or any other Perth suburb, it may make you happy to know that you may be eligible for assistance from more than one source, all from the Government. Here is an overview of Government programs to help you pay for childcare.
Child Care Benefit (CCB)
The CCB is a program that allows parents, grandparents and foster parents to receive help paying for child care. This program is income-tested; the amount of assistance depends upon your income level. The childcare facility must be CCB approved or registered. CCB is subject to certain requirements.
Child Care Rebate (CCR)
Those who are eligible for CCB can then apply for more assistance through CCR. You must be using Government approved childcare and must be either working, studying or training. It can cover up to half of your costs out of pocket up to a limit of $7,500 per child.
You can receive CCR directly on a weekly or fortnightly basis or it can be paid directly to your childcare provider. You can also have CCR paid directly to your bank account as a lump sum quarterly or annually.
Jobs, Education and Training Child Care Fee Assistance (JETCCFA)
If you are a parent who is receiving an income support payment and studying, starting a job or looking for work.
Grandparent Child Care Benefit (GCCB)
If you are a grandparent who is the primary carer for your grandchildren and you are receiving an income support payment, you can also apply for the GCCB, which pays the full cost for childcare up to 50 hours each week.
Special Child Care Benefit (SCCB)
The SCCB is for children who are at risk of serious neglect or abuse and for families who have “exceptional” financial hardship in the short term that has rendered them unable to pay childcare fees.
