When you have free time, especially when your children are on their holiday vacation, you can plan some bonding activities—and camping is one of the most popular options. Before you pack your bags and get ready to pitch those tents though, there are a number of things you should consider that will make your trip fun and adventurous for everyone in your family.
Preparing for the Journey
When you are gathering everything you need for your camping trip, make a list of everything you may need, drawing upon past experiences so you won’t forget anything. Pack a bag or two that contains all of the equipment, cutlery, plates, first aid supplies and food you will need so it’s all in one place.
Before you leave, double check all of your electrical devices to make sure that they work as this will save you the trouble of changing batteries or realising something doesn’t work when you’re in the wilderness. If you’re on a budget, garage sales and opportunity shops are great places to find tents, bags and other camping equipment.
Out on the Journey
When you arrive at your camping site of choice, get everything set up that you’ve brought with you. Wire toasters are great for toasting breads for sandwiches and use candle stubs from home to help you start a fire more easily.
Stretcher beds are comfortable for children and it saves you the trouble of having to inflate multiple air mattresses. Try to find a large tree with branches to hang food and rubbish bags, so that wild animals do not get into them in the night. These branches are also useful for drying wet towels.
Holiday Camping Adventures
Camping is a great family bonding adventure and it provides an excellent opportunity to catch up with your loved ones. Bring the whole family for a great time and pack everything you need to ensure a smooth-sailing family vacation.
